Title: MC hogs media keys on my logitech keyboard...
Post by: raldo on February 05, 2014, 07:23:20 am
Here's what I'm trying to achieve:

I'd like to use the Spotify windows app on my HTPC. I'd like to switch between MC and Spotify.

Currently, when Spotify is in focus and I press Play on my logitech dinovo mini keyboard, MC starts playback on whatever is selected.

Is it possible to change this so that the app in focus gets the media key input?

Have you tried changing the "Options | General | Advanced | Media Key mode" setting?  I remember having this problem before and I think changing this resolved it.

Btw. I'm seeing this on an Asrock 330HT PC

Thanks for the tip. Here's what happens when I try these settings. The original setting was default.

(i) Default: MC hogs play, pause. k
(ii) Disabled: Next, Prev buttons work. FF, Rew, play, pause don't work.
(iii) App Commands: Same as (i)
(iv) Hot keys: Sane as (ii)

So, basically, no progress!

What version of setpoint are you using?
Are you familiar with the modified version of Setpoint called uber options (http://uberoptions.net/)?

Did you try without Setpoint installed?

I think Windows just sends a "Play" command to whatever the default media player is, rather than to the foreground application.
I'm not sure that it's an issue with Media Center.

Setpoint is not installed. All buttons seem to work in Spotify when MC is stopped.

I don't think it's a Dinovo issue. I'm seeing the exact same behavior on the Asrock 330HT IR receiver which, supposedly, is MCE remote compatible. The MCE remote issues the same commands, I'd think.
