When starting up JRiver on a Windows 8.1 system, the Dac is not working. I have set it up using kernel streaming. Using WASAPI there is no sound, it plays though. Switching from kernel streaming to WASAPI and back makes the system work. Until the next reboot that is....
Using the QuteHD (not the Ex), I have no problem.
By the way, Windows 8.1 has a nice feature that powers off the USB for energy saving. Using a M2Tech USB->SPDif gave strange behaviour, the system stopped apparently randomly. Turning of the energy saving for the usb device solved the problem...
