Title: How do I compare two MC libraries?
Post by: psam on February 10, 2014, 02:28:51 pm
I have all my Music/Videos/Photos on a NAS folder accessible from my PCs/Tablets etc.
Running MC on two PCs, one in my office to manipulate the library and one acting as an HTPC in our living room.
Looking for a solution to a different issue, I tried to compare the two libraries
One library reports 185000 files while the other reports 160000 files.
How can I compare the two libraries? I have exported them both to xml format files but neither Excel or Firefox can open them.
Any ideas?

Export them as CSV files, and depending upon your needs, either include all fields or just the fields you want from a view you setup.  Then, you can diff the CSV files, since each entry is on a single line.

How do I get MC to export a library as a CSV file? There is only one option, "File-Library-Export to XML"...

File > Export Playlist, and select the CSV format.
