Title: New Files

Using version 8.... when I import new files, and click "New", it shows loads of files - not the ones imported during that session only. Can you explain why ?

You can clear it manually with a right click.

Do you mean right click recently imported and select delete ? I don't want to go deleting tracks !

Chopdog,

Select the Recently Imported playlist, select the files you want to remove from that playlist, right-click and select "Remove".  The files will remain in your library; they will only be removed from this playlist.  This is how it works for ALL playlists.

Alternatively, if you want to completely clear your Recently Imported playlist before importing again (so that you have a list of only the new files), simply delete the playlist itself (right-click on it and select "Delete"). It will be automatically re-created the next time you use "Import".
