Title: Is registration of JRiver Media centre 19 required for JRemote to work?

I am looking to move away from Sonos (as it will not support Hires audio) and JR19 looks like the probable candidate.
In order to test the ipad remote (JRemote) I paid the fee and am not attempring to connect to the trail ver of JR19.
I am on a network in the office (I am the IT manager so I know all the settings are correct).
I have a static IP on my desktop, but when I try to connect the Ipad (also on the same network) it says it cannot connect and to make sure I am connectedf to the network.

Even providing the remote with the local admin username and password for the pc will not allow connection.
Do I need to manually ateak the firewall on my win7 64bit desktop?

The trial version is not limited in functionality in any way, only in the time you can use it.

You may indeed need to allow connections through the firewall.
