Title: Conversion of ape audio to mp3 on-the-fly when syncing Android phone
Post by: brucem2000 on February 15, 2014, 07:50:58 am
MC 19 Win 8

I can't seem to find where the "Advanced Option" is to be converted automatically from ape (or cda) to mp3 when syncing to Android device.

I have set "Options" / "Conversion" / "Audio" to Encoder MP3 but nothing seems to happen.

There's just get a message saying the device is far too small to take all the files.

The help screens talks about an "Always" option but I can't see it in my version of MC19.

It is probably really obvious, but I can't see how to get the conversion to happen "on the fly" as the sync is happening.

The device must be connected and recognized prior to seeing it's options.
When it shows up in the tree under drives/devices, right click on it and choose options.

Thanks for coming back so quickly.

Yes, I get connected and can see the "Options" from the device, but the help pages suggest I should see "always for this device' or something similar.

I attach a screenshot of what I see.  You will notice the 53 files to be synced (only) are 723 MB greater than the phone's capacity.

Really, I'm just trying to get the conversion "on the fly" with the sync.

Best regards, Bruce

Mode: specified output format

That is the option "Always convert" that forces the conversion to MP3.
