Title: JRiver .deb file password.
Post by: dennis_k85 on February 21, 2014, 08:31:54 am
I downloaded http://files.jriver.com/mediacenter/channels/v19/latest/MediaCenter-19.0.117.deb. But when I try to install it it asks me for a password. I have an activation key, but that does not work. Where can I get the password??

It's asking for your *user's* password. (The one which you use to login)

Installing a package is an operation that requires root (higher) priviledges, accessed through the prompt you're seeing.

Let us know if you need more details or help.

That did not work. I am trying through the ubuntu GUI. I get a box that says authenticate. I tried the root password, and every password I could think of.
