As said above, changing the track number deletes the cover art inside the file for me.
This happens when editing tags in the list (grid).
-
To be clear, the cover art inside the file tags is removed?
Does MC still show a cover art after you did this?

As far as i can see it - yes.
Does MC still show a cover art after you did this?
Cover art is disappearing from the image window (left, bottom) and the little icon in the grid line is empty, too. Don't know if the image is still inside the file, but it ins't visible in MC any more.
File types are mp3 and m4a.

I can't seem to reproduce the issue. Editing the track number tag, or any other tags for that matter, doesn't seem to have any impact on the cover art.
Is it only this one tag for you, others don't do it?
-
I'm currently cleaning up my library, so i do very much editing.
I first make the images of each Album the same by using MC's "Get from internet" tool.
Then i occasionally correct some track numbers - that's where the images disappear.
I hadn't problems with other tags than track numbers until now.
-
The deletion of cover art is occurring when altering the name field, too.
This is getting increasingly annoying for me because i have to tag a big amount of music and always have to reload the cover art when touching these fields.
Is it only me?

Is it only me?
nope, i've seen MC "eating" coverart when shifting song, hard to reproduce though...
-
I can reproduce it very clearly: Alter track number or name then the cover art is gone.
-
does MC behave the same if you restart it ? untick "write to file" aswell
-
Restarting MC brings no improvement.
untick "write to file" aswell
Where do i find this option?
