Title: Relational fields don't display the content of a tag properly
Post by: Vincent Kars on March 04, 2014, 05:33:59 am
I have the fields Work and Composition
Work is relational to Series, Composition is not relational.

I want them to be equal.
I copy Composition into Work.
After some time the old value of Work appears again.

If I look into the tag panel Work contains the old value (Psalm 23 D.706) , this is the one displayed in the entire interface

If I look into the tags, Work contains the value of Composition (23.Psalm 'Got ist mein HIrt' D706)

It looks like that in case of relational fields the content of the tags is not displayed properly
This applies to all tracks having this specific value for Series

I noticed that one track is the top of a stack
Unfortunately one can not expand a stack in JRiver but using Musichi I can inspect the tags.
This is the copy in the JRiver conversion cache

Both Work and composition do contains the old value.
I always thought stacked members are updated as well but this seems not to be the case.
So there is a track containing "Psalm 23 D.706" in the Work field.
On the other hand, the Series field is not in the tags of the MP3.

In the MP3 I changed both the values of Composition and Work into Psalm 23 "Gott ist mein Hirt" D.706

In JRiver I updated Library from Tags

All values of Work in all the tags changed to the new value (Psalm 23 "Gott ist mein Hirt" D.706)

Much to my surprise all values of Composition changed as well.
In case of Work, I can explain as it is relational
In case of Composition I can’t as it is NOT relational

Maybe  not really a surprise.
The value in the tag is correct, what is displayed is the wrong one.
