How may I persistently disable grouping on any view? "Group By > None" is unavailable on e.g. a stock "Artists (small, with files)" view:

Group By is a File List thing.  Expand and show the File list, and then you'll find the Group By sub-menu under the little pull-down that appears above the File List header (just above the thumbnail).
