Title: Library server
Post by: CloudKickerz on March 22, 2014, 04:49:34 pm
Hi,

Finally moving over to JRiver from iTunes/Amarra. Couldn't resist the sound, and that's on top of all the other things that JRiver does.

I'm having trouble streaming my shared library properly. My main library is on a Mac Mini. Library Server is turned on and my Windows laptop connects and plays the shared library. I'm basically trying to replicate iTunes sharing where I can very easily stream music from one computer to another, even gapless. When I play music on my laptop, it takes a very long time to start playing. Once it does, it's very slow to respond to things like seek, track changes, etc. I have turned off memory playback and transcoding on the laptop but it's not really making a difference. Any help would be much appreciated. Just seems like it's buffering or processing something all the time.

Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.  It should not be slow.  Are you connecting to the DLNA Server instead of Library Server?  The wiki has topics that may help.

It has the library name and "(Library Server)" at the end.

I'm trying it again and it's still not responding instantly.
