Title: Low volume and sound quality to PS3
Post by: wooderson250wcg on March 31, 2014, 07:01:17 am
Just trying out JRiver before purchase hopefully.  Streaming over wired network to PS3.  My music is FLAC and I have JRiver set to always convert and 16.  The volume is low and the sound quality is no where near as good as playing the CD through the PS3.  It actually sounds like its down converting the music.  Are there any settings Im missing other than these to get the best sound quality?  Thanks for any help!

There will be no difference between FLAC and a conversion to PCM, presumably you mean 16-bit when you quote the number 16. Can you post a screenshot of your DLNA settings?

These are the only options I see.  Maybe I am missing some other config options.  As I say there is a significant sound quality difference between streaming and playing the cd.  I appreciate any advice.

Under Media Network options, choose "Add or Configure DLNA Servers".

That's correct - the audio conversion settings you are seeing is for use by an MC client when connected to an MC library server, the conversion settings you need to send to PS3 via DLNA are under the DLNA server settings.
