Hello everyone,
is it possible to change the folder structure of my music database to the structure of my playlists?
Thank you
-
Not by playlists, but take a look at the Library Tools. Rename, Move, and Copy can use metadata to build a folder structure.
-
Yes I know that, but I have already organized my music in playlists, the way I need it to be, in folders as well.
Is it possible that you add this feature in the next versions of MC, and also the m3u8 playlist support for the handheld devices?
Thanks
-
Are your playlist names absolutely unique across all your playlist names?
-
No, there are some common names. For example under the Artist name there might be playlists with the name Rhythmical, Joyfull, Instrumental etc.
If I have to, I can accompany the common names with some sort of unique code.
-
So it seems then that a track can be in only one playlist ever (or how will you re-organize these into folders where there are multiple playlist names)?
-
Yes, at the playlist groups I have in mind, a track is only in one playlist ever.
-
Then it would be possible to collect all the playlist "paths" (which would provide the basis for your folder structure) since the mapping of file to playlist would be one to one. This bypasses the problem we discussed in another thread last week.
-
I remember the discussion, but I can't imagine how this could be implemented there...? ?

It took about 4 seconds to identify all the playlists by full path for about 18.5K files.
