Title: Gizmo
Post by: Rasch59 on April 03, 2014, 07:24:53 am
Hello,
I installed JRiver and Gizmo yesterday an I can't get a connection from Gizmo to my server.
After entering my access key I receive the following message:

There was a problem connecting to the server. (and so on)

My server is a Buffalo LinkStation 421 and I Play the music with a T+A MP3000 HV.
I made the setting according the Help in JRiver.

What is to do to use my Samsung Android Tablet as remote control?

Many thank for your support!

Rainer ?

How do you connect to the internet (cable, dsl, etc.)?  If you have some type of modem, you may need to set up the port forwarding in the modem as well as your router.

Hello Alex,
thank you for your answer.
I wont use my Android outside my homenetwork. In help of Gizmo they describe if I will use it only in my homenetwork via wlan I don't have to set the port. ?

When you attempt to connect with Gizmo, it should show the ip address of the computer that it is attempting to connect to. Is it showing the correct ip address and port?

So,
now I'm able to play music over Gizmo to my streaming player (music is on may NAS, Buffalo LinkStation) but only when my PC is on and JRiver is on. What I want is to use Gizmo as remote control for my NAS without turn on my PC. Is that possible? What is to do?

I don't think that is possible.  MC needs to be running in order to use Gizmo.

I think some others are running the linux version of MC on a NAS, but regardless of where it is, you need MC running somewhere in order to use Gizmo.
