Title: JRiver on server crahing when playing movie on client
Post by: beginner44 on April 03, 2014, 11:26:09 am
Hi there,

I've been experiencing a very strange behaviour for several days.

Both installs are with version 19.1.117

The movies and the main library are on a PC used as a network storage area (we will call it NAS).

On the client PC (we will call it PCHC) JRiver is connected to the NAS librairy.

I've been using this setup for months, no issue to declare.

But since recently, when I launch a movie on the HTPC, JRiver would crash on the NAS.  :o

To get out of this, I have to load the local librairy (which is empty), use the file explorer and launch the movie from there...

I don't have such issues with music.

Please find attached the log files of both the server and the client. I also have saved the dump file from the server, but it is too big to be attached, but I keep it if necessary.

One final word : on the PCHC, if I set it up to start in Theater view, home page, MC would crash most of the times ; that would not happen if started in standard view. I will create a different opic for this issue, but I'm mentionning it here and now in case it is related.

Many thanks again for your help !

That is not expected behavior.  Please refer to this guide and work through the listed steps:

Tanks glynor,

I've been trying many diffrent things, but so far I haven't totaly solved the issue.

Since the latest buit (125), MC is not crashing anymore on the server, but the client will not be able to open files (only for video files (except .iso, which are fine, as well as music)).

I will keep you posted.

Cheers,
