A few times now after updating, I lose my license details and have to restore.
I'm now down to 5 restores left.
I just updated now and and at the end it said jriver is missing a required windows component. I clicked cancel then it came up and said I had to register. This didn't happen last time. I can try reinstalling..
Windows 7 Premium 64bit latest patch level
Updated to JRiver 19 19.0.125. Not sure on the previous version.
What information do you need from me (eg. logs)?

I'd recommend stopping and taking a breath.
Locate the licence .mjr file that you should have been emailed and keep that close and in a spot you can easily locate.
I'd recommend that you do a clean install of Media Centre using the latest build at the top of this discussion board.
Once MC is installed, make sure it works. Launch it. Import files. Set up a library. Play some files and confirm that they play.
Then launch the .mjr file and this should activate the licence.
If that doesn't work, come back here and wait for further intel. At the moment, whatever you're doing is just needlessly burning your available licence restores.. hold tight.. ;)

The mjr file is the Install Key. It is only good for 14 days.
Here is how licensing works:
