What does it mean?
Competition is heating up in that space again with the Amazon Fire TV being released, and there has been speculation of a much improved Apple TV with support for apps, for some time now.
With these being relatively cheap and powerful Android-based devices, perhaps they would make nice Gizmo clients if the interface was updated to support a remote.
The Fire TV seems like a good choice for a "bridge" device as it has HDMI, Optical, and USB on the back.
