I can't burn. When I try to it just keeps telling me "insert a blank disc" over and over. Same drive and disc in i-tunes - no problem. I love this program - so much better than i-tunes, but this is gonna be a dealbreaker. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling numerous times. Help ?

Burning works. Maybe another piece of software thinks it owns the drive?

When I insert a blank cd it says that I've inserted an audio cd. Burning works? Obviously not for me or I wouldn't have posted.

1. Have you tried a different blank CD?
2. Do you have the latest firmware installed on your CD burner?
3. Is iTunes actually able to burn to the disc or does it just show up as blank?

1. Yes, I've tried different cd's, different brands, etc.
2. Yes, the latest firmware is installed.
3. Yes, Itunes will burn the cd.
I can rip and do everything else that this drive normally does when using jriver. It just won't recognize a blank cd. Itunes and windows media player both work normally with this drive (rip, burn, etc)

Ok, different drive - no problem. The drive that doesn't recognize blanks is a cheap external. Works normally with everything i use it for except mc. Perhaps a drive that isn't supported by mc? Memorex MRX-650LE V5.

It sounds like iTunes (or another program) has locked the drive. Have you tried restarting and disabling any other programs that use the drive?

Errors like this are often caused by a bad filter driver loaded with the optical disc drive. You can use ImgBurn to list all currently loaded filter drivers on your system.
Install ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com/).
Make sure your drive is attached, and open ImgBurn.
Go to Tools > Filter Driver Load Order.
Click the Copy to Clipboard button.
Come here and Paste the results.
Thanks.

You may also want to check that drive for a firmware update on the manufacturer's website.
