Title: For Information, Win 7 vs Win 8
Post by: notred on April 15, 2014, 08:20:33 pm
This is for information to anybody facing this kind of problem...

I built a HTPC with JRiver+Audiolense on Asus Z87-A board + Lynx two-B
I have 6 channels and filter is 88Hz / 120k taps
Oversampling to 88 or 96 depending of the source

Initial installation on Win Pro 64bit I was facing the following issues:
- HDMI output unable to deal with my videoprojector and had to add a video inspector to make it work...
- Extreme stuttering with oversampling and using convolution (using only one of the 2 was ok though)
I checked latency with no good. All drivers and Bios updated. Played with all buffers I found  ?

I gave up yesterday and reinstalled everything under Windows 7

1/ My HDMI output is now working like a charm
2/ No more stuttering when oversampling+convolve (need a bigger then 50ms buffer though)

 ;D

Sounds like a graphic driver issue to me. What card do you have?

Integrated HD4600, latest drivers...
The issue with HDMI seems identified and running since a while...

It is not just graphic driver I guess as I had also problems with initializationof the lynx audio card (may be PCI bridge issue)...
