I have an album in my library where the first two seconds of every track is skipped consistently by MC. I have tried converting to another format and even to a different sample rate and bit depth as well but the problem persists. The files play just fine in other programs.
-
Are you using 19.0.128?
-
Yep.
-
Any more details on the album?
-
It's "Chopin: Complete Études" by Hardy Rittner. The tracks are seperate files (no .cue sheet).
When I hit play, the display text shows the correct duration for a split second, but then subtracts two seconds. WEIRD!
-
Do you have Tools → Options → Audio → Do not play silence enabled?
-
No. And it skips regardless of whether the two first seconds have audio or not audio, which is why this really bugs me.

^
Also check two other things in Tools ¦ Options ¦ Audio ...
1) Settings for transition between tracks
2) Settings for gaps between tracks
-
And what are you playing to? What sound device? If it's external, try internal.
-
Playback is gapless for sequential album tracks, otherwise 0,3 seconds gapped. The problem is only with this album and only in MC! Could it be something tag related?
Not sure about the external /internal thing? I play them on my pc, Direct Sound output w/ headphones.
-
Whilst I don't think this is it - it is worth eliminating
Check the playback range set for these tracks (Tag | Playback Range).

Steve

Holy christ... that was it! The playback range was set to begin at 2000. Thanks a lot... mystery solved.
-
I'm surprised too.......
After all the help & support I have received here - it is good to solve one for someone else :)
cheers,
Steve
