I posted this question a week ago but it has since disappeared and I didn't see an answer.
I've purchased and downloaded MC19 but it doesn't show up in my list of programs.
I can open photos and reinstall to run the program but I don't see it listed so that I can simply launch it.
any ideas?

I have no idea how that could happen. What OS?
When I can't find something, it's usually there but I'm not seeing it. Mayonnaise in the refrigerator, for example.

I do. When you install MC, if you uncheck the option to create Start Menu items once, future installers remember this choice, and they'll never be created (it might even actually remove them).
Reinstall MC.
Pick the Custom Setup option instead of Express.
After it actually installs, you'll get this page:

Make sure the circled item is selected. You can also tick the box to make a desktop shortcut if that's more your style.
If you do that once, it'll remember it from then on. But if you ever uncheck it, then it'll never make them again until you do the above.

Worked! Thank you very much.
