Title: finder integration - or service?
Post by: iPanini on April 25, 2014, 05:05:46 pm
Is there any Finder integration, similar to shell integration in Windows version?
Or services?

Thank you,

Erwin

You mean like Right-clicking a file, and selecting Open With > Media Center 18.app ... ?

There are no Services; the menus and much of the Apps UI is still very much Windows-ish

I was rather thinking of  > import to ...
Very handy if you have files all over the place..

For this, and I know I'm addressing a specific issue here, rather than being able to address the general I Want It Mac-like issue...

Add your music folders to Auto-Import, and let Auto-Import reference all your audio files.  Once they are in the Library, then, moving/renaming them can be done at once using tag-based rules in Rename, Move & Copy.

btw. "in the Library", this means MC has a reference to the media file locations and copies of the metadata (for speed).  It does not mean MC copies the media files themselves like iTunes does.  In otherwords, MC just points to the files and imports/caches the tag values.
