ive read through many threads and i always get confused. :-[ but the question seems simple.
is there a way to get files from the client to the server through mc?
both, yes and no, are ok, but when yes.. how?

Yes, you can if you have a network/homegroup setted up for windows
In the left side of MC you have Drives and devices
Under this you find, Explorer, click this, select network inside explorer, first locate the file on your clients hard disk, select the file in the right
big screen and drag it to the left until it is over the location on the servers hard disk, where you want it, you can select move or copy.
You always stayed inside JRiver Media Center. Simple. It works as windows explorer but with a different view.
If you have the server setup to auto import watched folder, and you draged it in such a folder, the moved/copied file will show up
in the servers library. Sync your client and voila.
I hope I explained it well enough, english is not my native language.

sorry for my late response 8)
thank you, your English is good, and the explanation is clear. your method is how I do it to pull files from the server to the client, without any homegroup and shared folders. I was hoping to avoid setting that up to move files from client to server, and hoped there was an other way to do this in mc only, like from server to client. I do understand that it cant be done.. ah well... since both machines have a dropbox, im using that now for the occasional file.
thanks
