Title: MC on Synology NAS?
Post by: telemark on April 29, 2014, 03:18:18 pm
Is it possible to run MC on a Synology NAS?

I've read some of the threads here but haven't found an answer. I don't need a GUI - I just want the DNLA/UPnP capability to stream to my media player from a Synology NAS. Is this possible with MC?

I should also add that 'possible' for me is probably a lot higher bar for me than for Linux experts. Ideally there would be a source code file to configure, make and install. Or, even better, a .pkg file.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks
Mark

Probably not, although it's not impossible.

MediaCenter requires an X server (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=84477.0) and a x86 compatible CPU with SSSE3 (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=84288.msg575908#msg575908).

Pulled out the SS(S)E3 requirements.
Now you just need SSE2
