Hi again from France,
I used JRiver (last version) with an MYTEC DSD192 DAC.
It s a great when listening WAV files but I bought some files and during playing no sound during 1 second from time to time.
This true on each files!!!DSD64 or 128...
I dont know if trouble coming frim JRiver or Mytec!!!
I try with Firewire connection...it s running very well with DSD64 , but DSD128 not supported...!!!
Maybe someone have same problem
FYI...
My system:
MAC mini 2014
JRiver
Mytec DSD192 DAC
SUDGEN Amplihier (2x50 A pure class A)
Cabasse EGEA3

I use that DAC with MC on Mac without problems. Are you bitstreaming DSD to the DAC (Options / Audio / Bitstreaming) or letting MC to convert to PCM? If you enabled "Play files from memory", try disabling it to see if it makes a difference.
-
Hi John
Yes I use DSD Bitstream and yes Play files from memory.
I will desabled it as soon as possible.
Note that with DSD64 aver firewire it run fine...but not over USB

My Mytec DAC has both a USB 1.1 and a USB 2.0 connection on the back. Make sure you're using the 2.0 connection.
-
Yes I use USB 2 port.
I try with "files from memory" disabled...It seems to run but maybe no listen enought time.
Why DSD 128 is not supported by Firewire.
To my mind sound is better....
Let me know

Hi, does anyone can share why i have this problem of DSD playback with soft gain volume problem compared to WAV or FLAC?
My Set is SONY UDA-1 (DAC + Amp) with my Mac on JRiver Media Center 19.
Settings on audio output is selected "none" to be able to hear the music while if i select DSD Bitstreaming, the music cannot be hear at all.

Unless Sony has provided a new driver for Mac, or a firmware update, it looks like that unit does not support the DOP format (DSD over PCM) which is required for native DSD playback on Mac. On Windows, Sony provides an ASIO driver that feeds native DSD to the DAC.
Here's a web page with some info about the Sony limitation:

Hi John
I want to use firewire connection between my mac mini and MY MYTEC dsd192;
For me the connection sounds better!
But I am disappointed because this connection does not support DSD128..
Mytec does not support or JRiver doesn't?

We're looking into it and doing some testing. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Hi from France,
So the conclusion is that JRiver does not supported the 128xDSD files with Firewire.
Jacques ?

Jacques ?
Do you have the latest Mytec driver installed?
As Adam posted above, we are going to test DSD128 over Firewire here, but needed a particular cable which should arrive from Amazon tomorrow and we'll test it out. There's no technical reason I'm of aware of that it shouldn't work.
-
Yes my Mytek DSD192 DAC is up to date.
Drivers, firmware.
So I wait your own test

Here the answer of Mytek Support team:
Jacques,
FW playback of DSD128 is not possible yet on Mac with JRiver.
Best regards
Adam
-
We've tested and can reproduce the problem. We'll work on it. Thanks again.
-
really!!!
How do you?
May be I have a Wrong setting?
Jacques
-
Also with DSD 128?
On witch MC Version 19.0.131?
You try with Mytek DSD192?
-
Sorry if I wasn't clear. Playing DSD 128 files through Firewire on MAC isn't possible at the moment but we'll work on fixing it. Regular DSD should play fine.
-
Sorry Adam
I misread!!!
Regards and hope an update soon
Jacques
