Title: TC Electronic True Peak meter plug-in doesn't work at 176.4k sample rate
Post by: mstan on May 03, 2014, 02:58:25 pm
I have been using TC Electronic's LM2n True Peak meter plug-in and it works (and looks) great until I play 176.4k files (converted from DSD) whereupon JRiver displays a message that the higher sampling rate is not supported.  The only other DSP active when this happens is a +6 db boost in parametric EQ.   I assume this a JRiver limitation rather than a limitation of the TC Electronic plugin?   If so, can you fix it?

That sounds more likely to be the plugin at fault than Media Center.

However, are you aware that Media Center itself performs true peak analysis via the Analyzer? (Tools → Library Tools → Analyze Audio…)

Yes, I am aware that JRiver does that analysis but I got the plug-in for recording in my DAW and thought I would try it out in JRiver as well.    Kinda neat to see the real time radar display and compare it to conventional meters; there is a difference.   I actually haven't tried it in my DAW at higher than 96K so I will check that out and see if it is the plugin.

6233638 you are right, it is a limitation on the plug-in; it only goes to 96k.

BTW, thanks for the tip on zones.   I have created one just for DSD playback transcoded to PCM and use the volume leveling and adaptive volume to normalize the DSD files.   Works beautifully.
