Title: Dirac in JRiver Media Center 19
Post by: grossmsj on May 04, 2014, 02:23:06 pm
Could someone tell me how the various "handoffs" work between JRiver, Dirac, and the DAC being employed? I'm specifically curious about how various programs handle the required drivers.

For example, I would run Dirac on my CAPS v3 Zuma computer that also runs JRiver. The USB output from this computer goes to my MSB "The Analog Dac". Obviously the DAC is last in this chain, but does this run Music File ---> JRiver --->Dirac ---> MSB DAC? If I understand correctly, JRiver recognizes Dirac (is this correct?), but does Dirac then use the MSB Asio Files?

Thank you,
Scott

Dirac Audio Processor (DAP) is seen as a Driver by JRiver (KS if I remember right).  Then in DAP, you specify the output driver(device) to use and that would then be your DAC driver.

Think of DAP as a Virtual Sound Card.

I get it... This sounds like its easier than I thought it would be.

Thank you for the insight!
