Title: multiple loki
Post by: jrix on May 09, 2014, 12:56:10 pm
I have a Loki and am very pleased with 2 channel DSD playback.
Is it possible to have 3 Loki for playing 5.1 SACD ?
Considering the cost of a Loki, this seems like a very
nice way to obtain 5.1 DSD playback.
Perhaps this is already possible, but I could not figure
out how to configure JRiver output on three USB devices.
thanks for any suggestions.

Check out this thread: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=86438.0

The bottom line is that you can potentially set JRiver up to play to three stereo USB DACs at the same time, but without some hardware method of syncing the DACs (SPDIF/ADAT/word clock/etc.), they probably won't stay synced well enough for use in a 5.1 system.  Most USB DACs don't have the necessary hardware inputs/outputs for that kind of syncing.
