Title: JR Worker Thread
Post by: bblue on May 10, 2014, 01:11:02 pm
What does the JR Worker Thread do?

On my client MC every other day or so, overnight usually, I'll get a message saying that the thread crashed, with an OK to abort MC.  No further explanation other than a couple of registers shown.  In re-running MC, because of the crash, it wants to start with several defaults which I deny because I need it to continue from where it was.  It comes right up and continues with no issues until another day or two when the worker thread crashes again.

I don't have any external (non-Windows) virus program in use.  Just Windows Defender and it is set to exclude everything in the music and video libraries from scanning and run-time examination.

Plus this just started back around .125-.127 beta's as I recall.  Is there any debugging or other information I can send that would help narrow it down?

Also, what does the worker thread actually do?

It seems that all of my intermittent or occasional problems with the JR Worker thread bailing, recently imported not showing, playlists partially shifting content, disappear when there is no software update pending in MC.  At least they seem to have stopped occurring since .134 was installed.  Serious bug.
