I have plenty of HD content burned as AVCHD type (m2ts + AAC) on Blue-ray disks. None of them can be played with JRiver 19. Can anyone help?

Have a look at these posts and see if they help

Hi Thomas,
I can not tell from the screen shot but are you trying to play the MTS file itself (in the "STREAM" folder) not the MPL?
Also I have just updated the Wiki on this - http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/AVCHD
Thanks
Nathan

I try to play M2ts file directly but fail in JR MC v19. Only Cyberlink powerdvd can play directly. How can I make it work in MC v19?
-
Hi Thomas do you have a small sample you can provide a link to? There is no issue playing M2TS files in general in MC so it could either be an issue with the exact file type (though I expect that unlikely) or something else with the MC instance on your PC but a sample file would help no end.
Thanks
Nathan.

Hi Nathan:
I upload a sample (AVCHD.zip) to https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=39D83102FF6861E9&id=39D83102FF6861E9%218274
Really appreciate your help and suggestion. Thanks!

OK - downloading it now ;D

I think I've got some bad news for you. Are these from an encrypted Pay TV recorder by any chance?
-
Have you tried with AnyDVD HD running in the background to see if it can remove the encryption from these disks (I presume they are physical disks). You can get a trial of the AnyDVD HD prog to test out and see it works with this content. MC can only play unencrypted formats.
-
In reading some more on the AnyDVD HD forum, you should be in luck using their product to decypt these disks (or you can post a log file on their forum). It seems they support the decryption of these BDAV disks but unfortunately I can not test as you need the disk as it was written not just the files that were uploaded.

Hi Nathan:
I tried ANyDVD HD, however, no luck. I disable AnyDVD HD.The disk still run smoothly under Corel WinDVD, BDAV type. So not caused by encryption. Still appreciate your suggestion. Hope JR will deliver new solution on handling BDAV.

Hi Thomas, Corel WinDVD / Arcsoft TMT / Cyberlink PowerDVD all have built in AACS decryption which is why your disk plays in WinDVD. AnyDVD HD is one prog that does just the decryption part that then lets others players (like MC) play the content. I'd suggest you post the Q with a log file on the AnyDVD HD forum. They tend to be very responsive and should advise if it can handle your disks or not.
-
I did find an earlier post on their forum that suggests they need the log file to determine the decryption key for the disk created by your particular player (needs to be done once), but the post was from a couple of years ago so may be old info.

Thank you Nathan. I posted on AnyDVD forum. wait their response.

...and I read that it now works?

Hi Nathan, I upgraded to AnyDVD HD last night. Now video can play. Thank you for helping me.
One small ask, how can this disk show on Theater view? Now only play through Drives & Devices under standard view .
-
When you put the disk in you will get a pop up asking what to do with the disk. This behaviour is controlled in Tools --> Options --> CD,DVD & BD --> Auto Play where you can select:
- Ask every time
- Nothing
- Play
- Rip
Once the disk is mounted you should see a Theater View button appear call "Blu-ray" (or "DVD" etc pending on the disk type).
