Title: Feature request: Selective DSD bitstreaming and selective DSD encoding
Post by: tourix on May 12, 2014, 07:52:12 pm
Hello,

For people who have a DAC supporting DSD64, but not DSD128, it would be great to be able to select bit streaming for DSD64 only, but not for DSD128. Currently, there is only one "DSD" check box applying to both DSD64 and DSD128.

Ideally, it should be possible to bit stream DSD64 (either with DoP or natively), but send DSD128 to the MC processor. This way, DSD128 could get converted to PCM and re-encoded as DSD64 for output to the DAC (either with DoP or natively) or sent as PCM to the DAC (maybe after down sampling).

Also, it would be great to be able to select DSD encoding (DSD64 or DSD128) depending on the sample frequency, and not globally. This would allow DSD64 encoding for a sample rate of 705.6KHz (result of DSD128 to PCM), thereby effectively downsampling DSD128 to DSD64, while still bit streaming DSD64.

Thanks!

+1.
Also:
Would it be possible to add 1xDSD, 2xDSD options in DSP Studio -> Output Format -> Sample Rate?
