Hi
Ref: Build 205
TRACKINFO_INSERT_TRACKPATH - full path to the currently playing file,
still doesn't work, and the index page will not scroll either.
________________________________________________________
Ilmar,
TRACKINFO_INSERT_TRACKPATH should be fixed in next build.

hmmmm clearly not an easy fix then
Keep up the good work, I've had a bad week too....

Mj keeps crashing when clicking on Devices/Cd-Rom (writeable)...IDE/ASPI/Auto configs. CD can be in or out. Digital playback on or off. CDDB on or off.
TEAC CDW54E Adapter:1 IDE:0
It came with the computer. HP Cd-Writer Plus
No idea what is going on. All I do know if you have MJ set to open at last location...can be a real pain trying to stop looping in crashes.

3. Changed: Simplified Playing Now
Ok...how do I get rid of the black area (where visualization are) now in Playing Now? Drag the slider bar all the way to the top? If so, that seems goofey...

Still problems with digital playback, now over 3 beta versions.
Digital playback is scratchy and with periodic pops.
Just tried two same songs from two different cd's with MJ and EAC. MJ played with pops, EAC played them clean.

Yes. All those tabs and buttons didn't really add that much other than clutter. This way you actually get more screen space for the list if you want it. The splitter will also support double-click and right-click. (eventually)
And we plan to add easier display changing in a future version.

Bugs:
1. Cannot see/use user-developed visualizations because they don't show up on the Visualization sub-menus. You have to open the Visualization Studio and open them in there to use them in MJ.
2. All to often, MJ crashes when swithing and/or enabling visualizations and trying to bring up the Visualizaton Studio. This appears to be the most unstable part of all MJ 8.0 releases...MJ crashes about 80% of the time when I attempt these actions. I kringe everytime I click on on them in fear MJ is about to crash (again).
-
Xstatic:
Are you using a Soundblaster Live Card? This popping and scrtatching sound came back a few betas ago, and I had to mute the CD in Mixer properties to get rid of it...
Ilmar

1. Cannot see/use user-developed visualizations because they don't show up on the Visualization sub-menus. You have to open the Visualization Studio and open them in there to use them in MJ.
Visualization scripts changed directories. You'll have to move any custom ones you made.

Auto Update still does not work. Sits at connecting then freezes with Not Responding.

Ilmar,
no, I am using a Terratec DMX Fire 1024 sound card.
-
During custom install, the file association selector dialog box had nothing to select; the white space was blank.
-
Switching back to Mega-Me from using a Winamp skin crashes MJ.
-
· Please no more "auto-enlarged" menues in fullscreen-mode...
· Button for Playback Options doesn't display "Playback Options" on right-click...empty menue, WinXP works - Win98SE doesn't!
· "Jump to Playing Now during playback" does not work...
· No CD-ROM access in tree-view (Win98)
· How do the codes for "TextColorEquation" work - I need simple RGB ore something, any explanation somewhere?
· How do I get the font bold or italic?
-
Tryed To Format Reo 500 That I Do Not Even Have, MJ Crashed
Can Not Remove The Reo 500 Plugin, Downloaded It For A test, Now it's there For Life?
-
Metamorphis : Metamorphis is putting included vis plugins in the old vis location, rather than the new one.
Track Info : Resizing MJ while viewing Track Info (or resizing the pane divider, or the vis window if viewing in a window) causes all kinds of messy refreshes/flashing.
Auto-Expand Branches : None of their respective toolbar buttons cause the branches to auto-expand the way they do when you click on that branch. This goes for Playing Now, Media Library, Playlists, and Devices.
Request : Thank you for adding Play, Send To, etc. to all of the branches beneath Media Library. Can we also get these for Media Library itself? So the actions will be carried out on everything displaying in Media Library? Also, can we get File Properties on all branches?
Request : Currently, we can't Quick Play a playlist group. We also get messy playlist lists such as "Genre Weighted Playlist\Rock - 60". How about handling playlists and playlist groups the same way that Media Views are handled in Quick Play. A Playlist Group will be have branches for each playlist/smartlist inside of it, and if you double click the playlist group, MJ plays that entire group, just like it would for an album if you double clicked the album name in Quick Play.
This way we can play Playlist Groups from Quick Play and we also get rid of the messy playlist names.

Thanks.

Should know better. Went from mj8 to mj8.207 and now whenever I try to record I get a kernel 32 error and am forced to close. Recording worked perfect in the earlier version.
-
Dunno if this is a bug or not, but DFX doesn't work when using Direct Sound. Switched to Wave Out and it works.
-
When I installed the new beta, and it got to asking me about file types, not types were listed, just a blank pane.
Bugs still there:
Focus problems:
Can't tab away from Search field in Media Library.
Keyboard focus is lost on return from full-screen mode.
When you edit Genre (or many other fields) in File Properties and press Return, keyboard focus is lost.
Can't tab out of an IE pane, such as Home or Web Media.
Fast-forward and rewind still don't work in video files.
Help menu remains grayed out when you return from About. This seems to be a general problem with menus and pop-ups.
When you pause a file, the whole status line is replaced with Paused, so you can't see where you are in the file. Given that the position slider changes shape, this seems a bit redundant. Also, when fast-forwarding or rewinding, the time display is intermittently replaced by Buffering... so you also can't see where you are.
-
If you Analyze Replay Gain while listening to music, the sound pops and crackles.
-
Nope, this works.
>When in Mini-Me, rolling the mouse wheel doesn't change volume.
-
Analog playback from cd is also a problem now.
MJ locks often up now, and freezes. Have to ctrl-alt-delete it to shut it down.

CDDB's working again, but when I look up the information for an individual file (from Properties), CDDB seems to return more information (genre, etc) and the Name field ends up with trackname|artist|genre, instead of just trackname.

Media Jukebox Saves Id3v2 Tags When The Option To Do So Is Turned Off.
If you take a mp3 that has both tags, then use the option to remove the tags, mj reports that the tags are removed.
when you go into properties and check, mj reports id3v1, and id3v2 = No (no tags)
when you now use the option to update all files, mj now saves id3v1 and id3v2 tags and like i said the option to do so is turned off.
i think it also did this in 7.2
-
MJ seems to be randomly crashing
both crashes with and with out mj playing
if mj is playing it will continue to play if you do not close out the error \ message box windows reports
-
as reported by others about the sound quality, it seems on windows XP (mine) also has problems maintaining good quality playback even if set to more skip resistant
this maybe a windows Xp - Windows Xp seting Problem, since i have noticed a problem with other sound programs.
if true MJ may be blamed for a problem that happens to be a Windows XP problem
-
media jukebox will crash on me when i pass the mouse over the right icon in the player box, i think it is for setup.
-
> Fast-forward and rewind still don't work in video files.
Sorry, I meant the hot-keys (Ctrl-Left and Right)
-
Bug:
1. Using Media File Properties to rename files physically located on a networked drive fails. I used MJ to play (not import) some MP3s on another PC's hard drive. Then, I decided to rename them using MJ. MJ could update the tags, but the renames all failed. MJ popped up the Confirm File Move dialog even though I was not changing the drive/directory location (that's a bug too). Then, MJ displayed the 'MJ failed to move/rename the following files' error dialog. So, MJ has two problems with renaming files on networked drives: 1) erroneous 'Confirm File Move' and 2) rename always fails.
-
For crashing problems, try switching from track info to visualizations (right click on screen). At least one of the track info pages causes a lock on my WinXP machine.
-
I can inconsistenly but regularly get MJ to crash/exit when returning from mini-me to mega-me.
-
Main menu (File, edit, view) still fades on Win2k
-
Remove always seems to be disabled in "Recently Imported".
So, how do I get rid of things from this now?
-
MJ8-0-207 still crashes during editing the file properties. This can be done either in a one by one sequence or by selecting a group of files.
The one by one method allows a various number of files to be edited (usually two to six). This behavior is common to all versions of MJ. Since it shows identical symptoms on total different machines (only the OS is common:W2K pro) and organizing functions I consider as major items of MJ, I’ll address it again in this thread.
Is anyone out there how has a clue, or is it already focused by dv?
Udo
For more details, I’ve copied the debugger output here. Lines beginning with # are comments, I added.
If you need my test files (24 mp3s), just let me know:
Udo.siegmund@foni.net
Please Note, I live about 7 hours ahead of you, so it might take a little to respond! This is the output of 206, but ver 207 is identical to this, so I was to lazy to redo it

Hi, I ripped a Various Artists CD this morning and the CDDB lookup worked well - each track had the artist coded against them - great work!
However, I had the rip process set to download cover art and it then appeared to go looking for the cover for each track with the search having the album title and the track artist.
-
>>For crashing problems, try switching from track info to visualizations
tried all combos
random crashes & crash on that Setup Command Button in the player window.

New infos on those crashing problems!
I just found out, that MJ will crash on many files ripped by other software. Ripping the same CD one more time using MJ works fine. So, there must be some kind on incompatibility to those files. Playing doesn’t give you any problems.

thanks for the feedback, after your post I fixed it
Uninstalled MJ8
Made sure everything was deleted

May have been something one of the updates or my system did.

I don't know if you also am referring to the ones I brought up, about pops and scratsches playing digital- and now also analog playback from a audio cd...
But I checked the same cd's and songs with EAC, and EAC gave a clear and clean sound, MJ did not.
Another thing, which may or may not have anything to do with MJ, is that my cd-rom drive makes a hell of a noise while playing back with MJ. When playing back with EAC it is much more silent (normal cd-rom noise from the cabinet)

I am in analog playback, i will try digital

Xstatic, have you tryed 7.2 to see if it cleared up? if so maybe it is mj8 playback, i'm scraching my head right about now.
anyone know of anything else to try \ do?
JimH is this a known problem? is there a cure?

When you do "Tools->Get info from CDDB" for a file, the track name always has |||Unknown on the end. I'll try it on a CD rip later.

Bug:
1. You can't navigate the right window in the Visualization Studio with the keyboard. Makes it really diffucult to use having to mouse-click each row of settings. Still, it's harder to even bring up the Vis Studio because it crashes MJ about 80% of the time when I choose Visualization Studio from the right-click menu.
-
Xstatic & King,
I don't get scratch playback of APE files.
We saw a scratchy playback problem a couple months ago that was solved by reinstalling the sound card driver.
Still, it sounds like it could be a problem with this build. Don't know.
-
Ok...this is a long, long time bug in MJ that has driven me nuts since the 7.0 betas and persists in 8.0 betas still. I had resigned this to maybe be a problem with Windows 2000 Pro, yet I've never, ever seen it happen with any other application (in 6|PLS| years of NT/2000 use). Now, I see the same problem on Windows XP Pro and I've got to believe it's MJ...it has to be.
PROBLEM:
Somehow, MJ gets into some state when minimized and/or not the active application that clicking on its taskbar icon or its tray icon does not restore it. Graphically, the taskbar icon for MJ will be depressed (as if it is the active application), but MJ will remain in the background behind all Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer screens. Using task swithing immediately reveals that MJ is NOT the active application, but is the last application in the task list (Z-Order I think they call it...I might be wrong on that term). The only way to get MJ back on top, is to click in one of the Explorer windows first and then click on MJ again (icon, tray or window).
Again, this happens on two PCs I have MJ on (one with Windows 2000 Pro and, now, one with XP Pro). Surely, others have seen MJ exhibit this behavior...I deal with it everyday for the last year now. I also notice this regularly when using Windows Explorer's right-click menu to Import tracks into MJ...MJ tries to become active to display the import totals dialog, but fails to come 'on top' on the running Explorer screen.
REQUEST:
Make the tray icon also minimize MJ to the tray when left-clicked and MJ is currently restored/maximized and the active application. If MJ is not the active application, it should do what it does now...make itself active. I know I can click on the taskbar icon to minimize MJ, but I'd like to just have to remember to click on the MJ's tray icon to do everything (minimize and restore)...like some other cool apps support (no brainer, in my opinion). Right now, if MJ is the active application and you click on its tray icon, it's a wasted click...MJ just refreshes itself...I'd like to see it minimize itself (to the tray, if configured so).

DSP - again - it's not worked for me in any of the v8 builds :-
For Virtual Sub and Surround Field -
1. Select the DSP icon and the menu appears
2. Select Virtual Sub or Surround Field and the drop down appears
3. Make a selection from the drop down and the description DOES change to your selection
4. If DSP was off, the action of step 3 WILL TURN IT ON
So far, no problem....

2. Select Environment, Intelli-Volume or Replay Gain and the drop down appears
3. Make a selection from the drop down and the description DOES'NT change to your selection

Added 2 files from Explorer into Playing Now.
Name - Artist.mp3
Name - Artist(2).mp3
Opened Properties on Name - Artist (2).mp3
Renamed Name - Artist(2).mp3 to Name - Artist.mp3
Clicked Save
Ask to overwrite Name - Artist.mp3 with new one
Clicked Yes
*** Everything is working normally up to this point
Looked in Playing now and was shocked. The Original Name - Artist.mp3 was AXED!
Shouldn't be there as I replaced it with the new one. Both items in playing now are pointing to the same file.
You can play the file but the Artist, Name, Genre, etc keep changing everytime you double click on it.
Artist: X¶
Name: tac
Album: acc
Genre: wma
Type: ogg
Length isn't right
Bitrate isn't right
Opening Properties on this file crashes MJ.
I can reproduce this everytime.

Jim:
"Xstatic & King,
I don't get scratch playback of APE files."
For my part I was referring to playback of audio cd's being in the drive, not playback of APE or other file formats.

When I mouseover the Shuffle button in the Player (left bottom corner)... MJ crashes with a GPF...

i had the same problem, must have been somethiing in the build
i had to uninstall mj, delete the mj folder reinstall works fine now

When renaming custom 1-3 fields in settings, their changed names do not appear in Track info, but remain to be
Custom 1, 2 & 3

I just tried this at the eMusic site, and it worked like a charm. Thanks. However, some way to monitor download progress would be nice. Freeamp uses a series of progress bars, but a simple symbolic indicator, like the speaker that shows which track is playing, would be sufficient. Or even a running total in the status bar at the bottom of the screen.
Granted that I'm not a heavy user, mostly playing, ripping, and organizing, still I use MJ just about every day and have never had a crash or any other problem. I download and install the new beta every third day.
-
ZRocker> I'm not sure that's an MJ bug. I've seen that happen on a lot of systems running all sorts for version of Windows. And none of these machines have EVER had MJ installed on them. And it happens on a variety of different applications, including MS Word, IE, and just plain old Windows Explorer.
-
Ever since turning Track Info into a Visualization plugin, Track Info's no longer display scroll bars when they need to.
-
I wa playing with the Vis Studio, when it crashed abruptly. Ran MJ again and tried to go to Vis Studio but it wouldn't appear. I had a look at my registry and "Vis Studio Top" had been set to 32767. Deleted the key and all was back to normal, but a it's bit naughty that the res entries can get this corrupted.
Also, make a vis full screen, bring up Vis Studio and try to edit an equation (Friendly mode off, of course). When you click on the entry, the top and bottom status bars appear, and you can edit the field, but as soon as they disappear, focus gets lost. You have to keep clicking on the entry and making quick changes.
-
LastPlayed isn't working properly. If I show songs that have been played within 10mins (lastplayed=<=600) it show files that have been played since I reset Recently Played. I haven't played a song in the last hour and still shows songs.
-
I though MJ wasn't responding to Alt-Space by bringing up its Restore/Move/Size/Min/Max/Close menu. Then I noticed it doesn't have one, even if you click on the icon in the top left. Isn't this against Windows GUI rules or is it some XP thing that's being shoved onto the rest of us?
W2K and proud
-
It's neither of those things.

That's under XP.
-
I forget... what was the reason that we couldn't include Top Hits and Recently Played in smartlist rules/searches?
Because that would be REALLY handy with I'm trying to do right now...

In versions since 8.0.203 there is a long hesitation before opening the property sheet. And, if too many are opened at once, crash.

>>In versions since 8.0.203 there is a long hesitation before opening the property sheet. And, if too many are opened at once, crash.
confirmed, I have the same problem.

I like this request from ZRocker.. I had been meaning to ask about this myself.. Since clicking on the tray icon restores MJ, it should minimize it as well when it's open.
"REQUEST:

>>>In versions since 8.0.203 there is a long hesitation before opening the property sheet. And, if too many are opened at once, crash.
I have some questions regarding this topic, since I just opened 1100 files in the property sheet:
1. Did the crash occured during opening or during updating those files?
2. Did you record all those files using MJxx?
Reason for this is: before I've started using MJ, I recorded mostly all my files with Real Jukebox. I can change or edit all files, which were recorded using MJ, but I'll get a crash, if I try to edit RealJukebox files. (Mentioned earlier in this thread).

* While playing a song, and being in track info mode, neotropic - right click, select options, select enlarge menus.
MJ keeps playing, but locks up. Won't react to either mouse or keyboard - only to a ctrl-alt-del
* When playing around with the different track info templates, right clicking in general, makes MJ lock up the above way.
* Some of the track info templates make the cover art too large to fit in window if one wants to see a bit of the playlist. This depends on the original size of the cover art file.
Maybe a functionality in settings or whatever could make it possible for the user to decide how big that cover art should be in track info?
-
I just discovered the awesome Find Artist function that links to Allmusic.com. However, this seems only to work for the currently playing song. I would love to be able to look up the currently selected artist/album in my library.
Could we add:
o In library, a context menu option to 'Find Artist' or 'Locate file->Find Artist'
o A toolbar button for find artist (even tho this would be the now playing artist, rather than the artist selected in the library view).
-
SeanC Said: "Could you add: In library, a context menu option to 'Find Artist' or 'Locate file->Find Artist'"
Agree!
-
When deleting a file from the library (and on disk), could MJ show me which playlists the song is currently in? It's important that I not mess up my playlists, and need a reminder not to delete songs that are 'in use'.
-
When exiting MJ and start it again, It doesn't remember wich song was last played.
It goes back to the first song in the list
Version 8 build 207

In Mini-Me mode:
1) When player is stopped, the REMAINING_TIME TrackInfo keyword shows "Live", not the total time for the track.
2) When you stop the player, the position doesn't return to time 0:00. It should, since that's what happens when you press Play from Stop. The position acts like you hit Pause not Stop.

Doof: Ah, after more experimenting, I've found you can get that menu by right clicking on the title bar. However you can't get it by left clicking on the top-left icon, or pressing Alt-Space, unlike every other Windows application. So I was half right
-
This didn't work for me. Just got a select files to play dialog. When I opened downloaded list the files just began to play. Would prefer something similar to the way RealOne and FreeAmp handle this.
Thanks for begining to add this feature though. I'm a heavy user of emusic and download entire albums many times per day.

Reposting from report against 199. Still broken in 207...
> 1. Fixed: Multimedia keys should work better.
Still broken, same as 198. I also updated my keyboard driver from Windows Update.
Reiterating my report...
Multimedia keys work fine when MJ has focus.
When MJ does not have focus:
- Play/pause button "blips" playback when MJ is playing, and starts Windows Media Player
- Stop button causes MJ to GPF
- Prev/Next track buttons work fine.

cjdshaw> Left click shows me that menu. As does Alt-Space.
If you're getting from a right click, that's just because a right click anywhere on a window's Title Bar will show you that menu. Try it right in the middle.
If you're not getting that menu from a left click or Alt-Space, then there's either something wrong with MJ8 under 2000, or there's something wrong with your PC.
-
After you rip a CD with multiple artists, MJ8-207 tries to download the cover art once for each distinct artist. I love that you are able to retrieve separate artist names but I can't imagine this is correct.

Hello.
I just installed the new beta version. And now I can't start the M.J. !?!
I only get the message:
"We are sorry, but your 30 day trial period has expired".
I have Win 2000 on my machine.
What to do ?

I have the same problem, only for me MJ crashes almost invariably when switching, but only if using a WinAmp skin. It doesn't crash if I am using one of the skins included with the MJ installation. My guess is there is a backwards compatibility problem with the older style skins (if I remember correctly, the skins engine was heavily modified for ver8).

- Mono MP3s still show half their total time. The position slider goes off-scale in mini-me mode (Echelon skin).
- On the export playlist dialog, the last 2 groups of buttons act like a single group.
- In file properties, if I change the file name of a song that's playing, it says it can't be updated. But it knows enough to stop playing it. Why can't it rename it?
Thanks,

RMP rocks! You guys rock! I have been waiting for RMP support in Media Jukebox for sooo long. I hate Real and using Freeamp just to be able to dl from emusic.com seems rather redundant. I am a huge emusic fan (you guys should partner) and supporting RMP with the download manager just makes the Jukebox even more kick ass in my eyes.
To one of the above posters, simply open the download manager (under tools) and drag the download album link from emusic into the dl mgr window. Its just that easy!
Again, thanks J River for a continual (and continuing) awesome product!
-
I have already said this a while ago, but I try it again
Strange thing is that I'm not able to view lyrics and notes and JPG when I import files from my cdr's
In MJ 7 this was never a problem
-
I am having a problem displaying cover art. I used 'Get cover art from internet' on an album, and it seemed to work fine. I can see the cover art when I display file properties. However, neither the Track Info templates nor the Clean-N-Tidy-II visual can display the image. The visual displays nothing, and the Track Info has a red X where the image should go.

Getting Cover Art For Compilation Disc
As reported earlier (by someone else), if there are 20 tracks, 8.0.7 appears to be trying to get the cover 20 times - each time with the track artist.
Looks like it is failing each time.
For compilations, instead of using the track artist, shouldn't you be using "various artists" or the album artist name and not attemping to look up each track?
-
Play a CD from devices.
Then while it is playing, try to rip it.
Sometimes you get an error message that the device is in use or busy. Stop playing the CD. Try to get the the info again from cddb.
Sometimes the hour glass goes on and it looks like all the cpu in a tight loop. Running win 2000, I can't even shut down MJ with control alt delete.

Download Manager : I had downloaded about 10 files with Download Manager, all using Fragment Download, and 4 of them ended up being corrupt. It was during this same download that several of the downloads got to 99% complete and then just suddenly reported as "Canceled" even though I never told it to cancel. All of these downloads were re-tried however, and all of them eventually completed successfully. When I re-downloaded the corrupt files, I didn't use Download Manager, and all 4 came down perfectly the first time. Not something I think I could reliably duplicate in the future, although I'm willing to try. I just thought I'd report it in case you guys wanted to take a look and see if there was some really obvious bug somewhere.
(I'll also report this in the next build's bug thread since this one is so late in, unless you guys acknowledge this one - I'm just not sure how much time you guys spend reading this thread when you're close to a new build release.)

Venner,
Try updating your video driver.

Removing tags via the properties menu does not remove the following fields: Year, and MJ specific fields (Rating, and Custom fields).
(to test, remove the tags, and re-import the file).

The right click menu doesn't show up from the system tray icon when MJ is in mini-me unless it's also minimized.

Just downloaded MJ8.0.207 & my whole system grinds to a halt about 30 mins after I engage the program = NO MEMORY LEFT!!! It must be leaking all over the place (& this was last night). All I was trying to do was rip some songs & compile a Playlist. Songs kept disappearing too & at one stage my Playlist wouldn't go beyond 15 tracks & I still had a good 12 minutes spare. System is Windows 98-SE on a Dell P111 500 with 128 memory.
-
rusty
do a search here for "memory leak"
others with win 98 have had similar problems, and have posted their solutions
i don't remember what they were though--haven't used win 98 since, well--never
-
MJHORTON - Thanks ... From the search ... "Memory Leaks" appear to be a very common problem with MJ & the Windows Operating Systems & Microsoft appears to be coping the blame for most of it & not MJ. I didn't have these problems under Version 7, so I can only assume that MJ obviously has some part to play in it all. The main suggestion was to download a freeware application called RamBooster (which everybody raves about), which I have done, so we'll wait & see.
I must admit Windows 98 is really starting to give me the #@^%'s lately as it appears you need to completely wipe & re-load Windows at least once a year, if not sooner in some cases. This is a giant BUGGER! as I'm no computer wiz. I know my computer isn't working properly now & it needs doing, but I don't know how to go about it, as I don't want to stuff anything up ... I need this computer for my business. Most of the computer shop dudes around here (I've heard are a bit hopeless &) charge like wounded bulls, but I'll have to do something soon. Hopefully this memeory watch will help too.
Is there a good Microsoft operating system? Is there a good operating system? ... Trouble is that so much of the software out there is designed for Windows etc.
Thanks again - Fingers crossed - Rusty.

This latest Beta doesn't seem to like my new Sony 24x10x40 Burner, especvially when I'm using it as the source to rip tracks from. Starts off OK, then after a few songs (sometimes on the first song) it starts crawling & then stops.
Then using my other CD ROM, I finally get all the songs copied & transfered into a Playlist (& that process is a bit labourious). Come to Burn using that Playlist & it suddenly jumps to the Devices = CD ROM & my Playlist is gone & I have what was on the ripped CD |PLS| my Playlist duplicated 4 times!?!?
Just letting you know - Am running Windows 98 SE,on a Dell P111 500 with 128 RAM (& am still having RAM prob's - even with RamBooster) - Rusty

//JimH: Update your Video driver
I've tried it with 3 different releases of the nVidia detonator drivers.
Another issue...
Songs with extended characters (accented letters, for example) are tagged incorectly and
display as garbage within the program.
-
Venner,
Still could be the video driver. Crash <--> Detonator.
We're not seeing this commonly.
-
Visualization Window funkiness : Besides the frequent crashing I've reported while running visuals, I've also experienced the following.
If MJ is running with a vis showing and my PC locks itself (It's XP) or a screensaver comes on, or if MJ has been minimized for a time, the vis window just stops displaying the vis. It might be all black, or it might just show whatever is underneath MJ at the time. I have to stop playback and then start it again for the vis window to start working again.

just curious, is that a record in MJ interact history ?

When using 2 monitors and right clicking on the tray icon, menus go off screen (right arrow, to the right (other monitor). Other programs show it to the left (same monitor as the icon / icon is closer to the other monitor than MJ).
Hope you understand cause I just had a brain freeze.
