Title: Can't get MC19 to recognize...
Post by: Dawgincontrol on May 18, 2014, 08:36:59 pm
mkv files.  Any ideas?  It will play them, but won't import them.

More information.  I don't even know what you mean by "recognize" in this context.  How won't it import them?  What are you doing?

Otherwise, you'll probably continue to be ignored.  Better to overexplain a little, than make assumptions that everyone knows what you're talking about.  Particularly if you don't get an immediate response.

If I click on the file from explorer, JRiver plays it.  From inside JRiver it does not import it, thus does not see it in any view.  I have tried importing from single folder and using autoimport.  It used to recognize them, but not anymore.

I have a few files like this, all MKV's.  One even has a JRiver icon on it in it's folder.

Have you enabled the Matroska Video (.mkv) file type in the Import dialog under Video when you import?

If not that, I wonder if they are importing, and the OP just can't see them because of some errant filter in the view or something.

I manually dragged the file from explorer and that worked.  Still will not import them.  Manually doing it.

Now I have to go through my files and see what's been missing.

I still have no idea what you're doing or what the issue is.  Try being far less terse if you want help.

Include things like:
Exactly what you're trying to accomplish (with example filenames).
How you're trying to Import them, specifically.
What the settings are in the related tool (Import settings, probably, but also maybe Tools > Options > File Types).
How you're looking to determine that they've been imported.

It should be a paragraph, not a sentence.

Not my intention to be terse; just brief.  Found a manual work-around that I will do.

Appreciate your time.

You can right-click playing files and choose import.
