Title: Some issues with accessing my library server off of my LAN
Post by: SpaceLaser on May 19, 2014, 02:58:31 pm
Hey guys,

I've been having some issues accessing my home media library from my work PC using Media Center as a client. I thought at first that it might be my employer blocking outgoing port access, but I am able to access the library from WebGizmo and JRemote on the same network.

In inspecting the logs, it seems the issue arises on a ConnectToUrl command listed here:
226264: 5792: Reader: CWinINetReader::Open: ConnectToURL failed, timed out (20000 ms), URL=http://MY.IP.ADDRESS/MCWS/v1/File/GetFile?File=107797

I tried the same web API call through my browser and was able to load the audio content within my browser after several seconds. I have a feeling that there might be some reverse DNS look ups going on my workplace network or something that is causing the delay. Is there anyway that I can lengthen the timeout from the Media Center client manually?
