I just installed a new bluray drive but cant play or rip any CDs with it in MC. I can play CDs from it via Windows Media Player but not MC. And I can play a DVD with it in MC.
When I select encoder in the options I get a message "there is a problem with the selected encoder" and sets it to WAV which is in fact the default encoder. I suspect this is related.
The drive is Asus BC-12D2HT. I run windows 7 and MC 19.0.128
The old optical drive worked fine (but wasnt bluray).
Can anyone help?
? ? ?

I found a way to rip cds to wav using software that came with the drive (called Power2Go). I dont know whether this is secure rip.
Could it be that MC wont rip cds from a bluray drive?

And I can rip from it in dbPoweramp. What's going on in MC?

The panic's over!!!
I installed the latest version of MC and it's all working. Weird but good.
I hope no-one wasted any time trying to solve this (other than me).
