Title: Play Doctor and Number Plays [solved]

Play Doctor doesn't seem to update Number Plays automatically when playing songs when left to play the songs by itself. Unless I do something manual, like click on the progress bar, switch to the Playlist, etc., the Plays don't update. Shows the update when updated from somewhere else, though.

Wait, I might have figured it out -- I forgot I had iTunes open. I tested again, and now the play count is working in Play Doctor. I guess iTunes has some control over the data when it's open.

Ah here's the reason I thought it wasn't working: Play Doctor updates the Number Plays a few seconds before the track ends, not when the track completes. That's why I didn't notice it. I just looked at the data at the moment the tracks complete, so it doesn't function exactly like in other lists. But it works. Enjoy the rest of your day!

I think it counts as a play once it gets over 50%.
