Title: iFi iDSD Nano and 4x DSD up-sampling
Post by: Bluemoon on June 03, 2014, 10:22:15 am
I use DSD up-sampling of PCM 16/44.1 Flac files. Recently I bought a iDSD Nano USB DAC which has become a 4x DSD native playback capable with a recent firmware update. Before the update I was able to up-sample Flac to 2x DSD without any issues.

The issue is, after the iDSD firmware update, JRiver is still limited to 2x DSD up-sampling. I was wondering whether this limitation comes from JRiver, iDSD or OSX's built-in USB audio driver? iFi claims OSX does not need an audio driver to drive the DAC unit. BTW I'm on OSX 10.9.3

MC only supports single and double rate DSD for output encoding. Quadruple (4x) is not available at this time.

Are you planning to implement (given that a number of new generation of DACs come with 4x DSD as standard)?

+1 - I am very interested in using my iNano at 4x - I have some DSD files I'm dying to hear at native resolution :)
