Title: Dead duplicates in Library - cannot get rid of it
Post by: Al ex on June 04, 2014, 01:51:19 pm
I have a lot of duplicates in my library. Some of them are with filepath \\DISKSTATION\... (Good!), the other half start with filepath V:\...

I recently have changed the Auto Import options from some V filepaths to DISKSTATION fielpaths, that must be the reason.

I deleted and auto imported the library again - still the same issue.

How can I get rid of the bad entries in my library? Thx.

The solution, I made for myself: I set up a new view with the filter "show only files with filename path contains V:", and then deleted them from the library.

However, if someone could tell me, what the reason was, and how to avoid this in the future, would be good to know...

If you imported any playlists, or had both paths listed in Auto-Import, or changed your Auto-Import path, you'd get entries in MC with both paths.  MC sees these as different files.
