Title: Convert Video - possible to skip first couple seconds?
Post by: muzicman0 on June 08, 2014, 06:50:20 pm
So, I have discovered that when I convert .ts or .wtv files to .mp4's, sometimes the audio video sync is off, however, if I use handbrake and skip the first few seconds of the video, then it works just fine.  I did some research, and it is typically due to some of the first few frames being corrupted...is it possible to use MC to convert videos but have it skip a few seconds at the beginning of the file?

Also, is it possible to use different compression schemes?  I can get great results (quality and file size) with handbrake, but I only get OK results with MC (either great file size, or good quality...but usually not both)...

bumpity bump!  If it's not possible, I will just continue to use Handbrake.

No probs, you can use "Playback Range" to do this.  Add the Playback Range Column in your view then enter in a range in the format such as:

0:10- (for start at 10sec and go to the end), or
0:10-3:00 (for start at 10sec and go to 3 min)

Then convert your file.  Try a couple to see how it goes.  Rememer to remove these values when you are finished as it will also impact your playback in MC to this range as well.

Thanks
