Title: Number Plays 0
Post by: johndonaldson on June 17, 2014, 04:01:46 pm
Suddenly Number Plays for all my audio files changed to 0.   :(
Is there any way to get the correct number back?

Restore your most recent backup.

File → Library → Restore Library

I would suggest making a backup before you do a restore too. (just in case)

I have a backup of the disk containing my library that is much newer than my newest library backup.  From this disk backup I copied "field (number plays)" into my library folder replacing the existing file of that name.  JMMC seems to operate correctly with all fields containing correct information. By doing this I can save the work I did yesterday in my library.  Are there any unforeseen consequences in doing the correction this way?
How could number plays for all audio files go to 0?

That's a fine approach.  You could get a number of plays tied to the wrong file, but that's rare.

As for why the plays went to 0, I don't know.  If it happens again, take notes and share.  There could be a bug.
