Title: Ignore new CD in drive?
Post by: clived on June 18, 2014, 11:14:46 am
Is there a way to have MC ignore (totally) a new CD placed in the CD drive? I've tried all the autoplay and autorip options in MC and the autoplay options in Windows 8.1 , but I can't stop the disc identification window popping up in MC. What am I missing?

I think MC will only identify the disc if you navigate to it.  So if you insert a disc and don't use the disc in MC, you should be fine.

The scenario is that I had MC running, with the UI on one screen. I use my ripping software of choice on another screen. When a CD is inserted, MC window pops up and I need to close it before I can move on (to say quality check the CD I have just ripped by listening to it once it's automatically been added to the MC library). The behaviour is a little inconsistent, so I'm just looking for a way to stop MC listening for a new CD being inserted.

It's actually the "Multiple Match" window that's coming up.

There's no way to tell MC to ignore a CD.  But you should use MC for ripping -- it has a class leading secure ripping engine.
