Title: How do you update to a newer version ?
Post by: tranle on June 21, 2014, 09:49:08 am
Newbie question here.
How are you supposed to update between the beta version like going from:
19.0.141 beta => 19.0.143 beta

Either
a- just run the new installer on top the old install.
b- uninstall the old version first, then install the new version.

So far I have tried to use {b} with the option of keeping all the settings and registry.  But on install it seems to remember my imported audio and movies,  but it has forgotten all my settings for audio device, audio playback settings, media server settings, media ripping settings.

Thanks.

You can download any version of MC19 and install it.  There is no need to uninstall.

So what is the usage of 'keeping the registry' settings on uninstall, or is that just for the license token.

In any case thanks, the next time I will just install over the old install.

It keeps all the settings for that version, because that way on a reinstall you'll still have settings.

Set Help → Update Channels to the latest version. MC should update automatically.
