Title: Id Name
Post by: AndyU on May 05, 2014, 03:27:53 pm
It's not too late to change the name!

"The id (German: Es)[3] is the unorganized part of the personality structure that contains a human's basic, instinctual drives. Id is the only component of personality that is present from birth.[4] It is the source of our bodily needs, wants, desires, and impulses, particularly our sexual and aggressive drives. The id contains the libido, which is the primary source of instinctual force that is unresponsive to the demands of reality.[5] The id acts according to the "pleasure principle"—the psychic force that motivates the tendency to seek immediate gratification of any impulse[6]—defined as, seeking to avoid pain or unpleasure (not 'displeasure') aroused by increases in instinctual tension.[7] If the mind was solely guided by the id, individuals would find it difficult to wait patiently at a restaurant, while feeling hungry, and would most likely grab food from neighbouring tables."

... instinctual force ...

... The id acts according to the "pleasure principle"— ...

Sounds perfect.  ;)

I assumed that was intentional.

With the addition of an apostrophe to make it "Sound's Perfect" you might have the marketing slogan there!

That is far too clever!

This is not true, because social behavior is entirely governed by instinct (although that is from research that is more recent than the id/ego/superego theory).

BTW, the plus side is that you can have two more products in your line ("JRiver Ego" and "JRiver Superego", presumably the second being a more expensive version of the first. :) ).
