Title: Write iTunNORM tags on analysis.
Post by: 6233638 on June 29, 2014, 06:42:46 am
Twice in the last week, the subject of iTunNORM tags has been brought up.
For some reason unknown to me, Media Center will only write these tags to a file when performing a file conversion destined for an iPod.

I use Apple hardware, but don't have an old iPod that Media Center will recognize.
Why does Media Center not write these tags during analysis instead of handheld conversion? It would make things so much easier.

It's just the way it works.  Moving it to a global set of MF_REPLAYGAIN is a possibility, but it's going to be a long time before it happens.

Is the iTunNORM tag not just derived from the audio analysis though?

So when you convert R128 data and write it to ReplayGain tags, couldn't it be written to iTunNORM as well?
