Title: Tagging TV Shows
Post by: nickolsj on July 03, 2014, 10:38:02 pm
Need some help with TV show cover art.  I am trying to paste cover art for a tv show, i guess you would call it the tv series title page.  anyway when i paste the cover art to the specific tv show it changes all artwork all the way down to individual episodes as the title page cover art.  So my question is how do i paste cover art without it propagating all the way down the tree?

Are you aware of:
NEW: Get Movie and TV Info (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=69316.0)
Audio Cover Art (http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Cover_Art#Which_files_are_missing_cover_art.3F)
TV Cover Art (http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/TV_Shows_-_Series,_Seasons_%26_Episodes#Cover_Art)
?

You could do this job using your right click / context menu.

But if you're pasting an image to a file, then (at least when I do it) it only attaches to the file that I point at.

To confirm, MC names the art file with [Show Name].jpg along with the meta data side car file, [Show Name]_(file type).xml

Are you seeing those files popping up as well?

i would prefer to use the context menu but i am having problems with some cover art not being saved/appended to the file after it finds the data from the web.  It might be a permissions issue with my files, but typically when i tag a bunch of stuff i first deselect read only on all the files so there are no restrictions (this all being done on an admin account).  However this either is not the problem or something is preventing the files permissions from being changed.  BTW this is running on windows 7.

Sorry for the delayed reply i got side tracked on another problem and nearly forgot about this one. :-[

All these files are contained in the folders.  Just a though, is it possible to simply cut/paste a file into the corresponding folder, so long as it is the correct file type and naming convention and MC would read it?

UPDATE -- well i went and looked to see if the were jpg files for tv shows within a few of the shows i have and i can only find jpgs for each episode.  None for seasons or overall tv series, just wondering are these located somewhere else?  Perhaps in the file structure of MC?
