Hey all
I've finally acquired a laptop that will be the conduit to my downstairs stereo from the upstairs computer/music server.
Anybody have any experience with phoneline networking? What method works best for uninterrupted streaming of music -- wireless, phoneline, powerline? I've read that wired networks are faster and more reliable, but that's not an option.
Any suggestions?
Thx

All 3 are going to cost you some dough.
Low cost would be the following...
You can 10BaseT (10 mb/s) on ordinary phone line, but it would need to be unbroken (no splices) and unshared with the phone system...and the wire would need to be 4 conductor twisted pair aka Cat3 (silver satin is no good). Without a hub/switch (ie direct connection between computers) then it would need to be configured as a crossover cable. If the wire's good then all you need is a couple RJ-45 plugs.
10-27
PS: Generally twisted pair cable will be round in x-section vs flat for silver satin
