Title: Settings Lost
Post by: Cal516 on July 16, 2014, 07:17:47 am
For the second time in the few months that I've owned & used MC, the program lost all my custom settings and returned to the "as installed" defaults. I noticed it after ripping a CD which ripped to ape instead of FLAC. Then I also noticed all "My Settings" for custom column listings and all of my tailored DLNA instances for different equipment, and all of my play settings had also disappeared.

This happened after I accepted the latest update.  The first time it happened was after I installed a JRiver developed downloaded from a music site.

Is the a way to repoint MC to a custom settings file?

Settings are stored in the registry.  Are you running some sort of registry cleaner?

Also, a library backup contains a backup of your settings.  They're made automatically, so you could restore from one of those.
