Title: How to populate the "Language" tag automatically ?
Post by: beginner44 on July 20, 2014, 04:27:25 am
Hello everyone,

I'm wondering if there is a way to retrieve automatically the audio channels properties from DVDs, .mkv, .m2ts...etc ?

It would be great to have the "Language" tags with the languages of the different channels available (such as Eng, Fra, Esp, Deu...). It then will be possible to build filters using that tag, and would make it easier to choose movies according to the audio languages available (some friends of mine cannot watch movies in English  :P)

I guess JRiver has already much of what is needed to achieve this because it will always select the right audio channel for playback, according to the preferences set in Options>Video>Subtitles & Languages>Default Audio Language

The icing on the cake would be to have the same for subtitles... (but would first require to create a dedicated tag)

Many thanks in advance !
