Having problems with convert format from FLAC to 320 kbs CBR. Most files fail, some succeed. Originally was running two at a time, changed to one at a time, based on an old thread I found. Hasn't helped. Is this broken in my version of MC? Or does someone have any ideas? Thanks....

I just tried converting many FLAC files to 320 kbs CBR mp3's and they all worked. Do the same files not work every time? Anything unusual about them?

Nothing unusual about them. The same files seem to have the problem each time. dBpoweramp, also using Lame, is having no problem with any of them, and is sailing through big batches doing the same conversion on the same files. So my problem is solved, but I think there's some MC issue somehow.

Would you mind sending one of the problem files? That sounds like something we'd like to fix and that would be very helpful. My email is adam at jriver dot com.

Well, I'm having problems reproducing the issue. It arose when trying to convert very long batch of files (>500) at once. When I retry using a small batch (< 20) of files, they convert fine....

I'm having the same problem, and have sent a log to the above email

They'd like a sample copy of one or a few of the broken files, if it is consistently repeatable with the same exact files. You can use a service like Dropbox or WikiSend to make a link if they're too big to attach to email (likely if they're FLAC files and you want to give a few examples).
(Though, the log doesn't hurt either.)

There was no dependance on files.
I queued up over 100 files to convert to mp3 (to put on an apple device), and every time it got to ~20 files, the conversion would fail from then on. I would then have to restart jriver.
I then went to convert just an album at a time. But when the total number of files converted since resarting jriver reached >~20, conversion would fail again
I did not try removing the antivirus (although i did try disabling real time checking), as I have done on my main HTPC to stop several jriver problems.
PS Is there any anti-virus program that jriver works happily with now, other than MS essentials?
