Title: Updating library now works weird (the colon thing)
Post by: laerm on July 26, 2014, 06:01:39 pm
Hi all –

Been a while since I posted...hey, it means I've been happy with MC! ;)

The recent version has issues with using Rename/Copy/Move Files to update library location. This was an issue a while back, then got better, and now doesn't work again (I suspect due to the colon tweak).

When moving a Windows library to Mac, I used to just select "Update database" and then "Find & Replace" at the bottom, swapping out the Windows drive name to the Mac /Volumes/ path where the drive "lives." So, for example, the old way would be:

X:
to
/Volumes/Public/My Music

Now, the colon throws an error for <invalid change>, but taking it off and going just with the X yields highly erratic results. It looks like I would get
/Volumes/Public/My Music_/Artist/Album//filename.mp3

So that random underscore as well as the // are problematic. Just so you know...

Thanks –
Micah

A reply for what I think may be a related problem, as well as a bump:

'Multiple Artists' in Album Artist (auto) is no longer visible in the Artist column when connected to a PC server.
